À propos de l'événement

Dear Friends,

I will be leading a LIVE online, interactive Day of Practice via Sangha Live on Saturday, April 6.

This 3-hour online event will include guided meditation, dharma teachings, interactive Q&A with me, and more.

We will be exploring:

Do you find ageing difficult?

"Ageing is stressful." — Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta - SN 56.11

As we age, our thoughts become less preoccupied with possible futures - a freedom which invites us to bring more attention and focus to the present moment.

But at the same time, ageing can give rise to fear and anxiety.

An important part of life seems to be behind us. And in growing old, all aspects life slowly require physical and psychological adaptation.  As the body slowly becomes more fragile, this experience invites us to question our priorities about what is essential and what is no longer serving us.

In this Day of Practice led by Dharma teacher and hospice-worker Sophie Boyer, we will explore what is constructed around this reality, and how we can develop discernment to face ageing with a more open and embracing heart.

Together we will rediscover what may have been forgotten along the way: getting old may be stressful, but ageing also offers a wonderful opportunity to awaken to what it means to be fully human.

Join this session to learn to:

 - Inquire about assumptions, beliefs, the sense of self that is built around the reality of ageing.

 - Bring clarity towards the fear that often come with loss, illness, isolation, death.

- Deepen an understanding of the natural law of change in order to strengthen ease and confidence.

Cost is sliding scale-based (suggested: $35). No one turned away for lack of funds.
